Rough Country Suspension Systems recently introduced their long arm suspension kits. Rough Country's 6.5" X-Series Long Arm Kit for the XJ is impressive in both price and quality.

To promote the introduction of these new long arm suspension kits, Steve's Jeep Country offered free installation to the first purchaser of a Rough Country Long Arm Suspension kit. Lance and his Cherokee took us up on our offer.

Front suspension bracketry

The bolt-on, heavy duty cross member is key to the long arm kit, tying in the front control arms. Note the stock lower control arm mounts are removed. Pictures also show the transfer case skid plate, slip yoke eliminator and driveshaft.

Front Control Arms

The kit includes high-clearance control arms with Rough Country's flex joints. The control arm strength and flex is obvious.

Front Suspension Complete

A few pictures of the new front suspension. Notice the new and improved Rough Country swaybar disconnects, extended stainless brakelines, RCX 2.2 Performance Shocks, and new adjustable trackbar and trackbar mount. The kit is complete.

Rear suspension

The kit's rear suspension includes new leaf springs, lifted shackles and stainless steel brakeline.
